In a country as big as Canada, we’re used to travelling for pretty much everything. Driving an hour to and from dinner is an ordinary day — something that amazes Europeans, who live in much more compact countries. That said, the Class B travel van is the vehicle of choice for those who have a long way to go — and in Canada, if you have the curiosity, we luckily never run out of road.
Campervans have become extremely popular, in part because the pandemic really boosted sales for people who wanted to get out of the condo. Today, you’d think that trend would have waned — not so. So, let’s have a look at a Canadian company, Pleasure-Way, which has been building motorhomes in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, since 1986, with a focus on these Class B travel vans.
What’s New for 2026
New for 2026 is the Plateau XLRB. Built on a Mercedes 3500 chassis, it features a raised queen bed, a large entertainment centre, and a cozy front lounge. It comes standard with 600 amp-hours of lithium coach batteries, a 3,000-watt inverter, and 500 watts of solar panels. The interior features radius laminate cabinet doors, Ultraleather upholstery, and Corian solid surfaces. The raised queen bed measures 80” x 60” and uses memory foam. Storage includes three soft-close drawers in the galley kitchen, three drawers and a closet under the queen bed, and three exterior storage spaces for all your gear.

Comforts of Home, Van-Sized
The bathroom-and-shower combination offers ample space and delivers many of the comforts of a home washroom while still fitting neatly into a compact van motorhome. It includes a residential-style china-bowl toilet, a separate sink, a handheld showerhead, a medicine cabinet with mirror, and a towel rack. The entire bathroom is lined with Corian and waterproof laminate for a durable, long-lasting finish.
The expanded interior space comes from the widebody structure, which offers a variety of unique living arrangements. The Lagun table can be mounted in the front cab area, and with an L-shaped lounge up front, the space opens up nicely for eating, working, and relaxing.
A Premium Build with Plenty of Options
I should point out here that this van, with a price point of more than $200,000, is certainly high-end. Still, at this price, you’d expect to be able to customize it. You start by picking the model, then the exterior design and paint, followed by the cabinetry, countertops, and upholstery. There’s also a wide variety of options you can choose from and add to your build list.

Built for Off-Grid Travel
One of the best things about the new generation of vans is the power package. You can explore freely and extend your off-grid adventures with the standard 500-watt solar panel package. This substantial solar array helps keep the 600Ah coach battery bank charged using a clean, renewable source of energy. The integrated charging system also features a super-efficient MPPT solar charger, helping capture more energy from the panels.
The new Plateau is all about travelling in style with no compromises. Get out there, Canada — the road is calling.
