The sales boom and bust from the pandemic are finally over. Frankly, that’s good for all of us as RV shipments gradually return to standard numbers. That means pricing should stabilize, and some quality issues caused by hurry-up production during the pandemic should be resolved. The trend for 2024 shows around 324,100 units built, while the forecast for 2025 has the numbers rising moderately to around 346,100 units. Those are soft numbers but very sustainable for the business.
“Persistent high interest rates have been a headwind for the RV market, but we are optimistic that shipments will remain steady over the coming months before gaining more traction next year,” said RV Industry Association President & CEO Craig Kirby.
So, while researching this annual roundup, I noticed a new shift in how manufacturers offer online model information. The shift I am referring to is more video walk-throughs provided by OEMs. When you visit their websites, you can do these 3D walk-throughs of the models that interest you. Frankly, they no longer offer photos. I have included a few links in this list. What follows is just a sample of what’s new from the annual show the RV builders put on each September in and around Elkhart, Indiana. Enjoy.

2025 Coachmen Brookstone 318RLL
At Coachmen, the company has been building trailers for over 50 years now. With that long history of customers, Coachmen reached out to them – to talk and understand how the owners of these RVs use their rigs. The all-new redesigned Brookstone is the result of these conversations. The key takeaways, says Coachmen, which went into this 2025 Brookstone are functional luxury; best in class towing for long journeys with well thought out storage solutions. The design team pays attention to detail so that customers will want to call Brookstone. So, note – this fifth wheel is so new that Coachmen still does not have photos or trailer specs available. But they do have a video walkaround.

RV Trends for 2025
-
-
- Many of the newest trends involve power, space-saving designs, overall convenience, and the internet. I’ve noticed some of them as I researched this roundup.
- More trailers will now come with “smart” TVs that are also 12-volt TVs.
- Some AC units can also run on 12V power now. This means that slowly, as our ability to get power from the Sun increases, we can get rid of onboard generators.
- Fridges keep getting bigger, and more units are residential models. The biggest I saw was a 20-cubic-foot model with French refrigerator doors, dual freezer trays, and an ice maker. It, too, is 12V compatible.
- Many RV’s now offer a convection air fryer microwave.
- RVs will be equipped with two-burner inline cooktops to open counter space.
- The other great advance is in RV stove/oven combos that feature all-electric convection ovens. The old-style propane oven cannot die fast enough for me. They have always been virtually useless.
- Lastly, desks are more common in the new designs. I suppose this speaks to the number of people working on the road – but also perhaps to the number of kids doing homework or homeschooling.
-
