Hyundai Santa Cruz
A new compact market is emerging with Hyundai showing its Santa Cruz pickup and Ford revealing the small Maverick pickup, both of which are planning to hit the market next year. Sadly, for 2021, Nissan is no longer selling its Titan or Titan XD pickups in Canada.
2021 Ford Super Duty F-250 to F-450
2021 is a carryover year for the Super Duty. It introduced the new 7.3L gas engine last year and upgraded to a 6.7L Power Stroke diesel. These are now matched to a new 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission.

2021 Ford F-150
The F-150 boasts several updates this year and they’re electrifying!
F-150 now has a fully hybrid engine based on the 3.5L EcoBoost – called PowerBoost. Ford says it will have at least 12,000 lbs. of towing capacity and approximately 1,100 km on a single tank of gas.

A huge leap forwards this year is ‘Pro Power Onboard’. This integrated generator will push out enough power to run 28 average refrigerators. Another innovation is Onboard Scales which estimates cargo weight in real time as you are loading the truck. Also, the all-electric version of the F-150 – called the Lightning, is coming next year and boasts 480 km of range. On another note, the 3.0L EcoDiesel engine has been quietly dropped from the lineup after just three years.

2021 Ford Ranger
For 2021, the Ranger line is adding off-road packages to its base truck model. The Ranger Tremor is a suspension and tires setup meant to compete with Chevrolet’s ZR2 and the Toyota TRD Pro. Powered by a 2.3L EcoBoost engine it is mated to a10-speed transmission.

2021 Ram Truck HD 2500 and 3500
For 2021, the HD Ram is a carryover. This year its Cummins 6.7L turbo-diesel has been boosted to 400hp and 1,075 lbs.-ft. of torque – a new high. Special edition packages are set to roll out over the model year.

2021 Ram 1500
2021 is a carryover year for Ram 1500. However, they work to keep the momentum going with new trim packages available again this year. For 2021, the Ram 1500 is also available as the TRX – this special desert racer features a 700 hp engine and unmatched suspension travel.

2021 Jeep Gladiator
The 2021 Gladiator is now available with either the 3.6L V6 or the 3.0L EcoDiesel with an eight-speed transmission. Gladiator offers the same trim packages and off-road capability as the Wrangler.

2021 Toyota Tacoma
Apart from news that Toyota is increasing the number of available versions of Tacoma (16 models across three body configurations), such as the off-road TRD-Pro, there are few changes in sight throughout 2021 for the base Tacoma model.

2021 Toyota Tundra
2021 will be the last year for the Tundra in its current form, which started in 2014. Toyota has officially announced the next generation – stating that the arrival of the 2022 Tundra will be late this year – however details at this point are limited.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD 2500 & 3500
This is a carry-over year for the Silverado HD. Recent changes are to the powertrain and driver-assist electronics. GM’s camera system now has 15 around-truck views. There is an all-new 6.6L gasoline engine with direct injection mated to a six-speed transmission.

2021 Chevy Silverado 1500
2021 is a carry-over year – though rumour has it that the interiors may get a mid-gen update later this year. What’s new are trailer mirrors, adaptive cruise control, and engine choices available across all trim packages. The new 10-speed transmission is also being added to the 5.3L V8.

2021 Canyon and Colorado

2021 Honda Ridgeline
For 2021, the Ridgeline is a new addition. It features all-new styling from the roof pillars forward, including a new hood with sculpted styling, a new squared off nose, and an upright grille. What remains the same is the powertrain. The interior has also been updated nicely. This truck continues to appeal to a select group with its car-like features and all-wheel drive.
