The Explorer RV Club gathered at Summer House Park in Miller Lake for our 28th annual rally. With 41 RVs in attendance, it was shaping up to be a fantastic weekend right from the start!

Registration opened in the afternoon, and it was wonderful to reconnect with familiar faces while also welcoming new members. This year, we kicked things off with a Meet & Greet, giving everyone a chance to mingle, share stories, and make new friends.
Our first meal together was a delicious barbecue, setting the tone for a weekend filled with great food and even better company.

As the sun set, Martin and Betty entertained us around a beachside campfire with their banjo and ukulele talents. It was the perfect way to end the evening. A special thank you to Wayne for tending the fire all night long!
We were up bright and early Friday for our adventure to Tobermory aboard the Blue Heron Cruise. Mother Nature had other plans, however, and strong winds delayed our departure.
The extra time gave members the opportunity to explore Tobermory’s charming shops, while others enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the Princess Hotel.

Once the winds eased, we set sail. The windy conditions couldn’t dampen our spirits as we enjoyed spectacular views of the famous shipwrecks and the iconic Flowerpots on Flowerpot Island. With sunshine overhead and smiles all around, it turned into a beautiful afternoon on the water.
Back at the campground, Amy Bradley shared valuable information during an informative seminar on RV insurance.
Dinner that evening was a fantastic lasagna meal enjoyed by all. After a busy day of sightseeing and learning, many members relaxed with friends, while a few gathered for cards before turning in for a quiet night.

Saturday morning was packed with informative and engaging presentations from our members and guest speakers.
Highlights included:
-
-
- Travel experiences and adventures shared by fellow members, coordinated by Gail.
- Eric’s helpful presentation on back care and wellness.
- Alan and Renny from Rogers provided helpful information on the 5G RV Internet service.
- Anthony and Patricia shared practical tips on septic system maintenance.
- Sharon’s informative session on how to start your own Explorer RV Club chapter.
-
Of course, it wasn’t all business! Members also enjoyed some friendly competition with beanbag baseball and got creative during our pumpkin-carving activity.
That evening, we gathered for our final dinner together, a delicious chicken dinner prepared by the wonderful Summer House kitchen staff. Thank you for keeping us so well fed all weekend!
After dinner, the excitement continued with our silent auction, 50/50 draw, and door prize giveaways. One of the evening’s biggest prizes, a huge Yeti cooler, was generously donated by Rogers.
Thanks to the generosity of our members, we raised nearly $1,200 for the Canadian Cancer Society. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, participated and helped make the fundraiser such a success!

On Sunday morning, we gathered one last time for a delicious pancake breakfast topped with locally made maple syrup.
As we enjoyed our final meal together, members completed their surveys, shared hugs and handshakes, and said their goodbyes. With another successful rally in the books, excitement was already building as we looked ahead and wondered where our next Explorer RV Club adventure will take us!

Until next time, safe travels and happy camping!
